A life-changing business lesson from history's BEST marketer

“Most businesses get a customer to make a sale, but the really really smart ones, make a sale to get a customer.”
This is a quote from arguably the best marketer ever. At first, it may seem confusing, so allow me to dissect the quote’s meaning.

What most businesses do
So the classic way is to have a traffic source. Whether organic or paid & send it directly to a sales page to make one transaction and part ways with the customer.
This still works, but it is not as effective as what we’re about to uncover.
What we need to do is get the prospect in our ecosystem.
This means we have their contact information and we build a connection with them in some way, shape, or form so we can get them to come back and buy from us multiple times.
This will drastically increase our LTV - Life Time Value and make us lots of money in the long run.
This is how it goes 👇🏽

How the smarter businesses do it
The smart way: You have the traffic source, and you’re offering a Lead Magnet in exchange for the customer’s contact information.
Now you’ve given them something they wanted, for free. And if it’s any good, they’ll love you for it! Now you can sell them to your other products/services.
And since they already know, like, and trust you, they’re much more likely to buy more things, more times.
You get them to do this by following up through services like SMS and Email. Providing more value and keeping them engaged in your business’s ecosystem.
It is better to have a small number of customers, paying you a large amount of money than having a large amount of customers, paying you a small amount of money.
