đź”® Power of Perception

Exposing the secrets artists and gurus use to boost their popularity, and how to be better & realer than them...

What do Hip Hop artists and social media gurus have in common?

They both claim to have a flashy lifestyle online.

It’s sad but true—most of these guys are showcasing a different reality than they actually live.

But honestly… doesn’t everyone only show the highlights of their lives? Holiday photos, sports highlights, and moments where we generally have a good time.

That’s because we all know the Power of Perception—the way people look at you can either make or break your life.

What you’re about to read is incredibly powerful, so please don’t use it wrong.

Because a mistake can cost your entire reputation.

🫳🏼 Manipulating The Power Of Perception

Perceptions can be influenced in various ways.

This is most commonly done as mentioned above, by showing a better, happier life on social media—which is fine because everyone does it.

But the way some rappers & gurus do it is flat-out manipulating their perception…

Stunting rented cars, fake jewellery (and claiming it’s real), lying about connections, and some even go to fake private plane studios to record videos and have photoshoots.

It has been uncovered that some artists bundle their tickets with their new albums just so they can boost their album sales.

Doing this is like walking in a minefield.

At some point the truth will come forth, their audience will find out, and lose all the respect they worked for.

It’s okay to use some perception-manipulating tactics. It can help you a lot.

But it is a problem when your entire presence and career are built on deception and manipulation.

You decide what you do and don’t show, and you draw the line when is enough.

⛓️‍💥 The Unbreakable: Transparency

When you are transparent and honest, you have a lot more freedom.

I like to use NELK as an example. A YouTube channel posting videos being absolute degenerates, over-drinking, cursing, dark humour, constantly messing with people, and getting away with a lot more.

They intentionally show their informal sides.

But from this, they’ve still been able to build a substantial business; Happy Dad—projected to be worth over $250 million.

Since they’ve been transparent, they can get away with controversy, since that’s what people are used to from them.

You can wear fake jewellery, it’s okay—just be honest about it.

In a world full of deception, honesty stands out and gets admired.

🔑 Key Take Away

Reputation is the cornerstone of power: through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once it slips, however, you are vulnerable and will be attacked on all sides

48 Laws of Power - Robert Greene

The people building their image on deception are playing a dangerous game.

When their false perception is shattered, they lose everything. True power comes from maintaining a reputation that can’t be easily broken.

The only sustainable image is your true one.
