🌡️ Quality of Traffic

There’s a reason why $4.50 Ali Express products can be found for $20 on Amazon.

It’s no secret that you’ll find the most interesting bits scrolling online.

As I was on YouTube, I came across a comparison of chalk pricing between a Target and a college bookstore.

I just had to share this…

🌡️ Quality of Traffic

While everyone complains about it being unfair in the comments, you need to see the applicable principle behind the pricing difference.

There’s a reason the college bookstore charges 12x more for chalk than Target, even though it is the same product.

Let’s look at why:
🎯 Target stores: Mainly located in malls/shopping centres.
🏫 College bookstores: Located on college campuses.

Every American goes to Target at times.

But only college students & professors go to campus bookstores since that’s where they naturally congregate.

With that—most people don’t use chalk, campus people do.

My point: You can maximize your profits by positioning your product where your ideal customers naturally gather. Quality traffic justifies premium pricing.

It’s true. Business is about what you sell, but’s is also about who you sell to and how and where you position your product to them.

Example…

You can choose to sell ice cream at the beach, or the gas station.

I guarantee you’ll sell more at the beach.

Why? Because people on beaches go there because it’s hot outside—making ice cream a relevant solution to their problem (cooling down).

But the gas station? People go there to fill their cars, not to cool down.

👞 Today’s Action Step:

Think about where your target audience is congregating.

If you want to be successful, you need to go places where you can succeed.

Instead of complaining about the chalk being more expensive on campus, look at why. And imitate the principle that’s leveraged.
